Bolnore Village Primary School

Beyond the Classroom

At Bolnore, we believe in building a community that cares, supports, and uplifts one another—both inside and outside the classroom.

At Bolnore, trips, visitors, and themed days are an essential part of our curriculum, designed to create memorable and enriching experiences that bring learning to life. Every term, we organise key educational trips for each class, ensuring that students engage with diverse environments and topics outside the classroom. Popular destinations include Drusilla’s Animal Park, Fishbourne Roman Palace, Kew Gardens, Washbrook Farm, Brighton and Hever Castle. These excursions not only complement classroom learning but also inspire curiosity and real-world connections.

We also bring the world into our school by inviting expert visitors who provide hands-on experiences related to our curriculum. Whether it's the rhythmic beats of an African drumming workshop, authors, artists or a professional chef, these encounters offer pupils unique insights into different cultures and art forms.

Our commitment to immersive learning extends further through themed days that integrate cross-curricular activities. Events like a Stone Age experiential yurt, Roman Day, and visits from a roving planetarium provide students with exciting, in-depth explorations of subjects, fostering both engagement and wonder.

Hurst Education Trust (HET)
As proud members of the Hurst Education Trust, our pupils benefit from access to the exceptional facilities and activities at Hurst College. From dance and drama workshops to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths) sessions, and from photography and art to bouldering on the climbing wall, our students experience a wealth of opportunities. The Trust also hosts sports sessions and tournaments in athletics, cricket, football, hockey, and swimming, further broadening the horizons of our pupils and enhancing their education.

Bikeability
In Year 6, we offer our pupils the opportunity to take part in the Bikeability scheme. This program equips young people with the skills and confidence to cycle safely on the road, fostering independence and promoting a healthy lifestyle.

These experiences, both inside and outside the classroom, are integral to our mission of creating lasting memories and a well-rounded education for every child at Bolnore.
